Jackson County judge appointed after Calhoun County magistrates recues themselves from commissioner’s case

In Calhoun County, a local commissioner and elementary school teacher is facing serious charges of child sexual abuse. Jacob McCumbers of Arnoldsburg was arrested after state police interviewed a reported victim who described years of alleged abuse. McCumbers has been removed from his first-grade classroom at Arnoldsburg Elementary. He was elected to the county commission just last year. Both Calhoun County magistrates have stepped away from the case, and a Jackson County magistrate will now preside. A special prosecutor from Doddridge County has also been appointed. A preliminary hearing is set for September 24th.
