Jefferson Road project brings extended closures through Saturday

The new Jefferson Road roundabout, along with the connector ramps and Kanawha Turnpike, will remain closed nightly through Saturday. The closures will still last from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to a press release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation. The nightly closures were originally expected to last Monday through Wednesday, but were extended Wednesday afternoon. They’re still doing paving work on the connector ramps. Jefferson Road and the new bridge will remain open during the closures, while non-emergency traffic on Kanawha Turnpike will be detoured at night. WVDOT also said that Kanawha Turnpike and the roundabout will remain open between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.
