Sewer rates to increase this fall in Winfield

If you live in Winfield, expect a higher sewage bill soon.

Starting November 1st, the city is raising sewer rates by 10% for all customers. That means a typical household will pay about $6 more a month. It’s the first of three planned increases through 2027 and it’s expected to impact more than one thousand customers.

The full plan is expected to bring in over $165,000 in extra revenue. The ordinance still needs a final review by the Public Service Commission, but it’s expected to move through.
