An Elkins pastor accused of sex crimes appeared in Randolph County Magistrate Court this week for a preliminary hearing.
Thirty-three-year-old Kevin Jones, pastor at Summit Church, asked the court to lower his $50,000 cash-only bond and dismiss the charges. Both requests were denied.
Investigators told the court they found more than a million files on Jones’s electronic devices, including altered photos of alleged victims.
The magistrate found probable cause for the case to move forward, and it’s now headed to a grand jury.
Jones remains in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
