Charleston man charged with terrorist threats on social media

A Charleston man is accused of making terroristic threats in social media messages to another man, court records said. Aiden Michael Leibowitz, 18, was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into threats involving another man at the University of Charleston, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court on Tuesday. The complaint alleges that Leibowitz sent a man direct messages via Instagram that included pictures of himself holding an AR-15 along with messages threatening to shoot the man. Authorities said Leibowitz spoke to police in a non-custodial interview, where he confessed to sending the messages, but said he never intended on shooting the man or at the University of Charleston.
