KRT expands rideshare options

Next month, KRTplus is expanding their ride share options to areas including Kanawha City, South Charleston and the Southridge Shopping Center. Eyewitness News spoke with Sean Hill, the KRT executive director, who said the system works like Uber or Lyft but with a difference in pricing. It’s still the same $1.50 if you’re picked up or dropped off in your zone, with a free transfer within an hour. Two routes will be replaced: the South Hills route and the Beach Avenue route, but riders there will still be able to request rides and ride on demand. Funding for the expansion is coming from the Kanawha County Safety Levy.
