With two months to go before Timothy Kennedy’s murder trial, a judge ruled Friday that jurors will be allowed to see body camera footage showing the fatal shooting of West Virginia State Police Sgt. Cory Maynard. The footage captures the alleged ambush in June 2023. Kennedy’s defense tried to block the video, offering stipulations instead, but the judge said the footage is key evidence. Kennedy is charged with Maynard’s murder and the attempted murder of two others. A hearing to decide whether to move the trial out of Mingo County is set for November 25. Trial begins December 8.
