The University of Charleston Spring Marathon, set to take place on April 12, 2026, has officially gained status as a certified qualifier race with USA Track and Field. That means that times from the Charleston Marathon can be used to qualify for more prestigious marathons such as the Boston Marathon, London Marathon, New York Marathon and Chicago Marathon. The University of Charleston Spring Marathon was announced back in April, marking the first time Charleston will host a full-length marathon in nearly three decades. The course will be flat and will take runners along both sides of the Kanawha River.
