Workman is appointed as family court judge

A Boone County assistant prosecutor has been appointed to serve as a family court judge in West Virginia’s 10th district. Elliot Workman, of Madison was appointed Monday to serve as judge in West Virginia’s 10th Family Court Circuit covering Boone and Lincoln counties, according to a news release from Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s Office.
Her background includes extensive work in family law, criminal law, and Child Protective Services cases. She also previously served as a Mental Hygiene Commissioner, where she presided over matters involving individuals and families in crisis. Workman is a graduate of West Virginia State University and Capital University Law School. She replaces Judge Bobby R. Hale, who recently retired.
