A brand new truck arrives at the Marmet fire department

The Marmet Fire Department is rolling out a brand new fire truck for the first time in twenty years. WCHS TV said the truck is costing over $1 million. The Kanawha County Commission approved on Thursday a combined $630,000 for 31 fire departments across the county, many of which are volunteer. The money aimed at upgrading bunker gear for many of the stations. Marmet Chief Jerry McGhee said that money goes a long way in protecting the first responders on the scene of a fire.
