A major plan to expand high-speed internet across West Virginia has received federal approval. Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s office says the National Telecommunications and Information Administration has signed off on a Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment proposal that will connect more than 73,000 locations statewide. The plan includes nearly $546 million for 142 broadband projects. Morrisey says the effort will improve telehealth, online learning, and everyday connectivity for families. More details are available on the West Virginia Broadband Enhancement Council’s website.
