Belle’s mayor is warning residents about a phone scam involving someone pretending to be a local police officer. Mayor David Fletcher says a caller claiming to be “Lt. Shelton” with the Belle Police Department left a voicemail asking for a call back about documentation. Fletcher says there is no Lt. Shelton, and the number isn’t legitimate. Residents—especially seniors—are urged to be cautious and report any similar calls.
