Students in Lincoln County now have automatic admission to Marshall University

An eighth school district has been added to Marshall University’s direct admission program. Eyewitness News said eligible high school seniors in Lincoln County will now receive direct admission to the university following a partnership that began Monday. Lincoln County Schools Superintendent Frank Barnett said in a news release that the Direct Admit Program helps remove many of the traditional barriers to higher education. Marshall’s goal to make higher education more accessible by reducing barriers and simplifying the college admission process. The program now includes students in Cabell, Kanawha, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam, Wayne and Raleigh counties in West Virginia, as well as Boyd County, Kentucky.
