A $500 million investment in Toyota’s plant in Putnam County is expected to create 80 new jobs. The company announced plans to increase assembly of 4-cylinder hybrid-compatible engines, sixth generation hybrid transaxles and more. The expansion will begin production in 2027. The investment is part of a wider $912 million investment across the country that will create 252 jobs. WCHS said the Toyota plant in Buffalo assembles more than one million engines, transmissions and hybrid transaxles annually and represents a $3.3 billion investment.
