An arrest has been made in connection with a reported stabbing and attempted robbery at the Dunham’s store in Moundsville—after police determined the incident was false.
Moundsville Police say Victoria Wade has been charged with falsely reporting an emergency. Investigators determined she stabbed herself, then reported it as an attempted robbery in the store’s parking lot.
The call came in late last week, prompting a large law enforcement response and a search for a suspect. Surveillance video and follow-up investigation later confirmed no robbery occurred and no suspect was involved.
Wade was arraigned and released on bond.
