Driver is rescued afer a Mason County crash

All lanes of U.S. 35 in Mason County were shut down Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer crashed and ended up hanging off a bridge near Sixteen Mile Road. Emergency crews from Kanawha and Putnam counties were called in, and it took about 90 minutes to rig a rope system to reach the driver, but he was eventually pulled to safety. He’s expected to be okay, according to Point Pleasant’s fire chief. The road was closed for some time while deputies investigated.
