An investigation being led by West Virginia State Police is underway after a man’s body was located in a rural area of Putnam County on Thursday. Troopers said the body of 61-year-old Alfred Hedrick, of Bancroft was found off of Route 62 near Plymouth Hollow. Gas company employees found the body Thursday morning while serving a well in the Amherst-Plymouth Wildlife Management Area and alerted authorities. The road is normally blocked to private vehicles. Troopers said the death has been deemed suspicious. Investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy to find out how the man died.
