Students geetting used to cell phone ban

With the school year just passing the halfway point, students are still adjusting to the new cell phone policy put in place by Kanawha County Schools in August. Kanawha County Schools Superintendent Paula Potter said its been a learning curve for students, but overall they’ve done a great job at adapting to the new rule. The rule bans students from having their phones during instructional time and it was put into place following Governor Patrick Morrisey’s signing of House Bill 2003. Potter said from the start of the school year through December there were a little more than 1,400 incidents of high school students using their phones when they shouldn’t have been, and 648 at the middle school level.
