A Taylor County grand jury indicted Shannon Robinson of Grafton, after an 11-year-old child in her care died from alleged neglect. Authorities say the child, who had been sick with flu-like symptoms for about a week, was severely underweight and had been visibly ill since summer 2024. Deputies say Robinson and the child’s father avoided seeking medical care out of fear of being reported for abuse. Robinson faces charges of murder of a child by a guardian and child neglect resulting in death. She remains in Tygart Valley Regional Jail without bond.
