The City is working to acquire control of Town Center Mall

Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin says the city is in talks to take control of the Charleston Town Center Mall.
During her State of the City address Monday, Goodwin said discussions with the Hull Property Group about transferring ownership to the city have been underway for about a year.

The Town Center opened in 1983 and was once among the largest enclosed malls on the East Coast. Since being purchased by Hull in 2021, the mall has seen continued store closures.

Mayor Goodwin says the acquisition process is ongoing.
