The governor makes two appointments to the WV legislature

Governor Patrick Morrisey has appointed two people to fill vacancies in the West Virginia Legislature.

Trenton Barnhart of Pleasants County will serve in the 3rd District of the West Virginia Senate, replacing longtime Senator Donna Boley, who retired earlier this month after 41 years of service.

Barnhart has represented Pleasants County in the House of Delegates since 2019 and currently serves as Assistant Majority Whip. He has also held leadership roles on several committees, including Workforce Development.

Morrisey also appointed Guy Ward of Marion County to represent the 74th District in the House of Delegates. Ward previously served as mayor of White Hall and was elected to the House in 2016 and 2020.
