Former Mingo County teacher is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student

A former Mingo County teacher has been indicted on multiple charges involving a student.

Kevin Scott Baisden of Delbarton was indicted by a Mingo County grand jury on two counts of sexual contact with a student by a school employee and one count of soliciting a minor.

According to court records, the investigation began after school officials reported alleged inappropriate messaging between Baisden and a student at Mingo Central High School in December 2024.

State troopers say the student reported inappropriate physical contact and that hundreds of messages showed what investigators described as a romantic relationship.

The alleged incidents occurred between November and December 2024. Baisden no longer works for Mingo County Schools.
