Logan Elementary students prepare to finish the year at middle school after fire

Students at Logan Elementary School are learning remotely this week after a weekend fire damaged their building. District leaders quickly created a plan to move students into the local middle school to avoid major disruptions.

Superintendent Dr. Sonya White says crews are reorganizing the middle school, placing elementary students on the first floor and middle schoolers on the second.

The fire started early Saturday morning, and schools across the county are supporting displaced teachers with classroom supplies. In-person classes are expected to resume next week, though Eyewitness News said it’s unclear how long the shared arrangement will last.
