Deadline is approaching to submit art for the City’s juried exhibition

The City of Charleston is accepting artwork from Kanawha County students for the Youth Arts 2026 City of Charleston Juried Exhibition, with submissions due later this week.

Students in grades K through 12 can submit original two-dimensional artwork through 5 p.m. on March 19. Pieces must be no larger than 18 by 24 inches and labeled with the artist’s name, grade and school. Artwork can be dropped off at the City’s Office of Public Art on Quarrier Street.

Selected pieces will be displayed March 30 through April 2 in the Clendenin Lobby of the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.

A reception is scheduled for April 2 at 5:30 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. in the convention center theater.

City officials say the exhibition has grown significantly in recent years.
