Grandmother of Kyneddi Miller has trial rescheduled

The March trial of Donna Stone, accused in the death of her granddaughter Kyneddi Miller, has been continued to April 15.

Stone faces charges of murder by a guardian and child neglect after Kyneddi was found emaciated in their Boone County home in April 2024. Kyneddi’s mother has already been sentenced to 15 years to life, while her grandfather was deemed incompetent to stand trial.

Investigators say Kyneddi had not been eating for months and may have been on the floor for several days before her death. The case has prompted questions about West Virginia’s Child Protective Services and led to tighter reporting protocols to prevent similar tragedies.
