Cabell County Schools say an investigation is underway after another false bomb threat was discovered at a school.
Officials say a note found in a bathroom at Southside Elementary claimed a bomb would go off in 10 minutes. The message was discovered after that time had already passed, and authorities determined it was not a credible threat. Deputies still searched the building as a precaution.
School leaders say this is the fifth false threat reported at Cabell County schools in the past two weeks, with several occurring at Southside Elementary and neighboring Huntington Middle School.
Prosecutors warn the threats are not harmless pranks and can lead to criminal charges. District officials say at least three students suspected of making earlier threats have already been identified.
