This Year’s Frank Veltri Dinner Will Adjust To The Pandemic

A Charleston Thanksgiving tradition will be happening this year, but in a different way. Organizers of the Frank Veltri Dinner have a new plan, and instead of having a kitchen packed full of volunteers preparing the meals to be delivered, they’ll do Thanksgiving in a bag instead. The Veltri Dinner has been feeding people on Thanksgiving for over half a century, and the in-person aspect of the event will combine with the dinner already being served at Manna Meal. The delivery portion typically provides 1,700 to 1,800 prepared hot meals to high rises in the area. But this year they’ll be delivering the items needed to prepare a meal. They still need plenty of volunteers.
