Six a.m. alcohol sales will start on Monday. The legislature passed a bill that will allow the sale of beer and wine from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. every day. Retail outlets can sell liquor between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday, and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Governor Justice says he will lift the mask mandate on West Virginia’s 158th birthday, on June 20th. Health experts project that, by then, 65-percent of West Virginians ages 12 to 35 will have a least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and that 75-percent of the population over fifty will have at least one shot.

Nearly 25-hundred women will spilt a 23-million dollar settlement in a sexual abuse case against a former Charleston doctor. Kanawha County Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey approved the settlement in the case against gastroenterologist Steven Matulis. He’s accused of abusing patients while under anesthesia during procedures. The victims will each receive nearly five-thousand dollars.
A two-year-old girl drowned in a pond near her Moundsville home. She was reported missing Wednesday evening, and searchers found her in the pond. Rescue crews tried to resuscitate her, but she died at the hospital. An investigation is ongoing.
