Herd immunity may take some time

West Virginia health officials say getting to herd immunity against COVID-19 is going to take a lot longer than anticipated. Variants are becoming a problem, and so is vaccine hesitancy. Forty-four-percent of people in the United States have received at least on dose of vaccine. In West Virginia less than 36-percent have received one dose.

Man killed in Hurricane house fire

A man who was pulled from a burning townhouse in Hurricane has died from his injuries. The fire broke out Tuesday night on Fairway Gardens Drive. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Charleston approves paving project

Charleston City Council approved a project to resurface almost sixty city streets and alleys. Repaving is scheduled for areas downtown on Kanawha Boulevard from Capital Street to Greenbrier Street, in addition to streets in Kanawha City to the Edgewood District. The city will spend around two-million-dollars.
