Two people hurt in Huntington shooting

A Huntington woman is under arrest for a shooting in a domestic incident that sent two people to the hospital. Twenty-six-year-old Brandy Hairston is charged with malicious wounding and wanton endangerment.

Fleeing suspect hits police cruiser

A suspect fleeing the scene of a domestic dispute in Cross Lanes hit a police cruiser and led police on a chase that ended with another crash in Sissonville. One person was injured, and the suspect is in custody.

Kanawha County School Board begins search for new superintendent

The Kanawha County School Board held a special session on Friday to begin the process of replacing longtime superintendent Dr. Ron Duerring, who announced his retirement earlier this month. The board hopes to name his replacement by May, so Duerring can help with the transition. Duerring’s final day is June 30th.

Marshall University investigating graffiti incidents

Marshall University President Jerome Gilbert is taking the three hate filled graffiti incidents on campus very seriously. The graffiti was found in restrooms on campus this week, and one incident happened last month. The university’s police department is investigating, and if a student or employee is responsible, they face expulsion or dismissal.

Mineral County court clerk accused of embezzlement

A former Mineral County chief deputy circuit court clerk is accused of embezzling money from office accounts. Gary Feaster is accused of stealing as much as 87-thousand-dollars over a three year period. Prosecutors say he used the money to fuel his alcohol and gambling problems.
