The Lincoln County school board has hired a new superintendent. Board members voted unanimously this week to hire Jeffrey Kelly for the position. The contract is for a three-year term that starts July 1 and runs until June 30, 2023.

Mingo County deputies said a man has been charged after a fatal shooting. Health officials have completed statewide testing of nursing homes for COVID-19. They are encouraged by the results. More than 70-percent of nursing homes tested negative for the virus. More than nine-thousand residents, and 14-thousand staff members were tested, and just over forty new cases were identified.
