News Staff CS Global Group, a Turkish mining company, is building a new plant in Moundsville. The company specializes in Barite manufacturing and sales, and will bring almost fifty new jobs and invest ten-million-dollars.

The Greenbrier Board of Education did not take any action on Governor Justice’s request for a hearing in his grievance over not being hired as Greenbrier High School’s boys basketball coach. The Board met in executive session, and did hear comments from one person on the matter.
The Tazewell Police Department is shut down due to an increase of COVID cases within the department. Investigators are working from home, but officers are being instructed to stay out of the building and away from each other to slow the spread of the virus.
An antibody treatment center is now open at the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department to help treat COVID patients. The state is expanding access to monoclonal antibodies to help relieve hospitals. Marshall will renew a long rivalry against East Carolina tonight at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. Marshall and ECU have met 15 times, with the Pirates holding a 10-5 edge in the series. The last time the teams clashed was in Huntington in November 2013.

It will cost more to keep warm this winter. Mountaineer Gas is asking for a more the 34-percent rate increase, and Hope Gas-Dominion Energy is asking for a 17-percent increase. Many smaller supply companies are also asking the PSC for rate hike approval.
