IRS files lien against the Greenbrier Hotel

More financial trouble for the Justice family…The IRS filed a more than one-million-dollar lien against the Greenbrier Hotel Corporation. The lien indicates the taxes date back to 2018 for payment of employment taxes. The IRS filed a more than eight-million-dollar lien on property owned by Jill Justice, the governor’s daughter and president of the Greenbrier.

Sale tax holiday starts Friday

West Virginia’s back to school sales tax holiday is this weekend. It starts at midnight on Friday. Clothing and school supplies are exempt, and the exemption does extend to online orders.

City Council member helps kids get ready for school

Cedar Grove Council member Ashley Young is helping out local kids with school supplies. She helped raise 13-hundred-dollars through hot dog sales and fundraisers to buy fifty backpacks and school supplies to help get students off to a good school year.

Moundsville fire under investigation

The investigation continues into a structure fire the broke out behind a Dollar General store in Moundsville. Two people were trapped on the second floor of an apartment building. Firefighters were able to get them, and they were flown to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Summer school moved out of Duval PK-8

Summer school activities at Duval PK-8 are being moved to another location, after the building was closed last week due to structural concerns. Classes will be held this week at the Pre-K primary building next to the main school.
