A Hurricane family is displaced after a fire at their home on Foster Road, off Hurricane Creek. A couple, their three children, and two pets made it out safely. The fire started around a gas space heater. The farmhouse was built in the 1890s, and sustained considerable damage.
A Mingo County man is facing drug charges after officers found him walking outside his vehicle in just his underwear. The man told officers there was a snake inside the vehicle. When they looked inside they found a plastic bag filled with cocaine in the front seat.
The union representing local Kroger workers has reached a tentative agreement with the grocery store chain, avoiding a potential strike.
