Two corrections officers charged with helping inmate escape

Two correctional officers at a Boone County juvenile detention center are under arrest for helping an inmate escape. Eighteen-year-old Dominick McClung was being held on a murder charge, and was able to escape during a medical transport with help of the two officers. he was captured a few hours later.

Boat explodes on Cheat Lake

Seven people were hurt when a boat exploded on Cheat Lake. Fumes built when the boat was refueling a Edgewater Marina, and when the operator tried to start the engine the boat burst into flames.

Hardin found guilty

A jury found former Marshall Student Chase Hardin guilty of two counts of sexual assault against one victim and not guilty on two counts against another victim. He faces up to fifty-years in prison.

Man sentenced to prison for defrauding church

A man who defrauded a Cabell County church out of nearly half-a-million-dollar has been sentenced to almost three years in prison. Seventy-six-year-old Robert Adkins served as the treasurer of the Antioch Baptist Church, and wrote checks on the church’s account for his own benefit.

A coronavirus outbreak has been reported at a nursing home in Sissonville. The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department reported 26 residents at Cedar Ridge Center have tested positive for COVID-19. There are over one-hundred new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia and a person has died from the virus in Kanawha County. The county saw a large drop in active cases, with almost thirty people recovering.

Governor considers travel restrictions

Governor Justice is considering travel restrictions or mandatory quarantine to slow down the spread of COVID-19 in some hard hit counties in West Virginia.
