The Kanawha County Board of Health approved an indoor vaping ordinance. The ban treats e-cigarettes like cigarettes, and prohibits them in public places like restaurants and stores. The Cabell-Huntington Board of Health will host a public hearing on a similar ordinance this week.
Fort Gay is officially the first town in West Virginia to declare itself a Second Amendment sanctuary. The city council adopted the ordinance Friday night. Putnam County passes a similar measure last week.
The state court system is working to convert all West Virginia counties to electronic filing by the end of 2022. More than thirty counties will be converted by the end of this year. The Supreme Court will take part in the program after work at the county level is complete.
