4th Anniversary of devastaing floods

Today marks the fourth anniversary of the devastating 2016 floods. More than twenty people died, and thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed. RISE West Virginia is still in the process of rebuilding some of those homes, and two schools are still under construction.

WVSU canceling homecoming activities, but not the game

West Virginia State University is canceling all homecoming activities, except for the September 26th football game, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The game against Notre Dame College will take place with reduced fan attendance to maintain social distancing.

Universities addressing racism on campus

Marshall University is creating the Coalition for Anti-Racism, a group that will advise the president and other organizations on racism, bias, and discrimination on campus. The Best Virginia team has decided to withdraw after a team member tested positive for COVID-19.
