Harm reduction conversation continues

The conversation about harm reduction in Charleston continues. The West Virginia Drug Intervention Institute held a town hall to discuss the work being done by groups like SOAR. Dozens of Animals Are Rescued in Mingo County

An animal rescue group said more than 80 cats were seized last weekend from a home in Mingo County. Animal rescuers also said several cats were found dead in the home. P-EBT benefit for missed school meals

Families whose kids receive free or reduced cost school meals will get an extra benefit. You’ll receive a special P-EBT card for lost days in school because of the pandemic. The cards will go out starting in mid-March and be retroactive to last fall.

COVID-19 numbers continue to fall

The number of active COVID-19 cases continues to drop to just over sixteen-thousand. West Virginia health officials confirm ten more deaths and over five-hundred new cases. More than 100-thousand people have received their second shot and are fully vaccinated.

Ironton bar cited for health code violations

Boomers Sports Bar in Ironton is being cited for health code violations. Agents found more than seventy people crowded around the main with a live band on state. There was no social distancing, and most people were not wearing face masks.

Two suspects arrested after police pursuit

Two people are under arrest after a police pursuit in Fort Gay. Police tried to pull over a stolen vehicle when the driver took off. The car crashed after a short pursuit, and the suspects tried to flee on foot. Both men were taken into custody in a wooded area.
