WV counties and cities will receive millions in federal relief

The new federal stimulus plan will include 14-hundred dollar checks for most individuals, and millions of dollars for West Virginia Counties and cities. Fifty-five counties will receive almost 350-million dollars, smaller cities over 150-million-dollars, and metropolitan area will get almost 180-million-dollars. The state will separately receive one-point-twenty-five billion dollars.

Governor Justice is unveiling the new West Virginia Vacation Guide. The travel inspiration magazine is dedicated to promoting “Almost Heaven, West Virginia.” This year’s guide is a special edition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

Trial underway for woman who made up kidnapping story

Jury selection is under way in Santana Adams’ trial. She’s the Milton woman charged with making up a story about an Egyptian man trying to kidnap her daughter at the Huntington Mall. Adams is facing a misdemeanor charge for falsely reporting an emergency.

Man arrested for running police with a gun

A Jackson County man is under arrest after he tried to run police with a loaded gun screaming “shoot me.” After fighting with Colten Asbury for several minutes, deputies were able to disarm him and cuff him. Asbury said he’d just smoked meth and thought something was chasing him.
