Sissonville man accused of killing brother

A Sissonville man is under arrest for fatally shooting his brother. The two got into a fight at a home on White Tail Lane when shots were fired. Twenty-three-year-old Holdon Burdette had recently been treated for mental health concerns. He’s charged with first degree murder.

Car crashes into gas station

The Little General Store on Indian Creek Road in Pinch is closed after a car crashed into the building. No one was hurt. The store will be closed indefinitely because of significant structural damage.

Coal River reaches crest 5 feet above flood stage

The Coal River in Tornado reached its highest level in over fifty-years, more than five feet above flood stage. High water damaged several home and blocked roadways in tornado and St. Albans. The Kanawha River crested just a few inches short of its thirty-foot flood stage.

Fatal Accident on US 35 is Under Investigation

Two people died in an accident Tuesday near the Mason-Putnam County line. U.S. 35 was shut down after the accident while West Virginia State police reconstructed what happened. Putnam County Sheriff Bobby Eggleton said a car was traveling from Mason County into Putnam County, hit black ice and then struck another vehicle.

Sheetz Plans to Open a New Distribution Station

Convenience store chain Sheetz Inc. will build a $2 million distribution truck transfer station in West Virginia, creating up to 30 jobs. Gov. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office said a woman is accused of shooting and killing her father and her boyfriend. Hillary Paige Dennison is charged with two counts of murder after an incident Sunday in Williamstown.
