Harrison County Schools are planning socially distant outdoor commencement ceremonies. The district will hold six different ceremonies on high school football fields in late June. They’re still working out how many guests will be allowed per student.
The U.S. Bureau of Prisons will not transfer out-of-state COVID-19 positive inmates to federal prisons in West Virginia. Inmates will be tested before being transferred to the state and inmates that test negative will be separated from the general population.
The Governor says West Virginia is a trend setter for keeping coronavirus rates low, and for being the first state in the country to do statewide testing at nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

The National Day of Prayer looked a little different yesterday in Cabell County. A drive-in ceremony was held at Christ Temple Church in Huntington.
Kanawha County deputies are looking for a missing woman and her infant son. Thirty-one-year-old Britney Foster and her one-year-old son Aiden were reported missing on Tuesday. A family member says she left their home in St. Albans to visit her boyfriend in Charleston, and no one has been able to contact her.
South Charleston is trying to help businesses reopen. City council retracted a sidewalk ordinance, so businesses can now set up outdoor dining areas on the sidewalk. The move allows all businesses to use the sidewalk in front of their stores, not just restaurants.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting ten new cases of coronavirus, bringing the state’s total to almost 13-hundred. The death toll remains at 51.
Kanawha County parks and golf courses will open this weekend. Coonskin, Big Bend, Meadowood and Pioneer Park will open Saturday morning with restrictions in place to protect visitors.
