More tweaking on West Virginia’s color coded COVID-19 map show almost all counties in the green. The map is being update with whichever statistic is better; daily positive test, or percent positive. Two women sentenced for ramming Oak Hill police cruiser

Two women who tried to get away from a traffic stop in Fayette County have been sentenced to prison. Police tried to pull over 32-year-old Cori Wolfe, but she refused to stop, rammed a police cruiser twice, and then tried to take off on foot. Hardin sentenced to 20-50 years in prison

Former Marshall University student, 23-year-old Chase Hardin, will spend at least twenty-years in prison, and will be on supervised release for thirty years. He was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman last month. Hardin’s attorneys plan to appeal.

WV awarded $10.3 million federal grant to help small businesses

The U.S. Department of Commerce is awarding a more than ten-million-dollar grant to the West Virginia Economic Development Authority to help small business owners recover during the pandemic. Business can already apply for the funding, which will be dispersed as part of the Revolving Loan Fund.

Kenna Elementary named Blue Ribbon School

Kenna Elementary School is one of three West Virginia Schools named a 2020 National Blue ribbon School. Kenna was recognized in the category of Exemplary High Performing School. Panther Creek Elementary and Willamstown Elementary School also received awards.

Six more COVID-19 deaths in WV

Six more people in West Virginia have died from COVID-19, and there are over two-hundred new cases of the virus. There are over 35-hundred active cases statewide, and more than 170 people are hospitalized.

Charleston police are warning about a phone scam. The caller poses as a police officer asking for donations, or they tell the person that answers the phone that there is an active warrant or owe fines and must pay immediately with a prepaid card.
