Police are investigating after someone set fire to a store display inside the Dollar General on McGinnis Drive in Wayne. An employee put out the flames, and no one was hurt.

A firefighter died while on duty at Charleston Fire Station Three on Oakwood Road. Twenty-seven-year-old Jason Cuffee died from an apparent medical emergency. Mayor Goodwin is ordering all City of Charleston flags to be flown at half-staff.

The remains of a thirteen-year-old boy have been found in Hampshire County. He went missing over a week ago, and his body was found in a shallow grave, not far from where he was last seen alive. A suspect has been identified.
