Two more COVID-19 deaths in WV

Two more people in West Virginia have died from COVID-19, bringing the state’s death toll to 31. More than 980 people have tested positive for the virus. Testing will continue today at the state’s nursing homes, so far, more than two-thousand tests have come back negative.

Road Closure Will Affect Huntington to Chapmanville Drivers

The West Virginia Division of Highways is closing Route 10 at the Lincoln-Logan County line for about two weeks to repair a slide. Unemployment Claim Backlog is Cleared

WorkForce West Virginia says it has cleared the backlog of more than 140,000 unemployment claims. That had been a priority for Gov. Yeager Airport Starts Construction on New Building

Yeager Airport is preparing to make way for a U.S. Customs building. The airport began the demolition of two aircraft hangars and the line technician building Thursday morning. Construction on the U.S. Customs building is set to begin this summer. Yeager Airport also is rebuilding a new line tech building.

Second lawsuit filed against Clarksburg VA

Another wrongful death lawsuit has been filed in connection to suspicious deaths at the VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. A woman, whose husband died in 2018 from an insulin injection, filed the suit. Federal prosecutors are investigating the deaths of eleven patients at the hospital.

KRT ridership down 60%

KRT’s ridership is down nearly sixty-percent. The Transportation Authority will get more than 7-point-7-million dollars in federal funds to cover operating expenses.

Passenger traffic down 95% at Yeager Airport

Passenger traffic at Yeager Airport is down 95-percent, and officials expect a revenue loss of up to 800-thousand-dollars in April, and the same in May. The airport will receive nearly five-million-dollars in CARES Act grant funding to help with payroll and operations through the summer and fall.
