Opinions are divided over a potential Milton flood wall

A community plagued with flooding for years, received an update about a flood wall project. Eyewitness News said many in Milton worry about the cost, having to get flood insurance. The U.S. Army Corp Of Engineers held a public meeting Tuesday night updating the residents of Milton about the Lower Mud River Milton WV Flood Risk Management Project. Those working on the project said FEMA is in the middle of updating its flood insurance rate maps for Cabell county, so it’s unclear where the risks are. Many are also for the project for safety reasons, with the flood wall helping save lives. The hope is to have a 30-day public and agency review plan with comment by early summer.
