Plea deal is in the works after teen’s murder case is moved to adult status

A tentative plea deal is in the works for a 14-year-old charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the shooting death of a tobacco shop employee in Charleston. Bre’juan Williams-Hampton opted to have the charges moved from juvenile court to adult status during a hearing in Kanawha County Circuit Court on Tuesday. He’s is charged with the murder of 19-year old Caden Martin on Jan. 30 while Martin was working at Tobacco & Pipe in the 2000 block of 7th Avenue in North Charleston. The case will be presented to a grand jury.
