Cell phones stolen from Sam’s Club

Police are looking for four suspects who stole more than 13-thousand-dollars’ worth of cell phones from the South Ridge Sam’s Club. Three women and a man stole more than a dozen phone and were seen driving away in a white minivan.

Bill makes animal abuse a felony

The state Senate approved a bill making animal abuse and neglect a felony in West Virginia. The measure creates an “Aggravated Cruelty to Animals” charge for seriously hurting an animal or withholding food, shelter, or medical treatment.

WV House rejects school calendar change

The West Virginia House of Delegates rejected a bill to push back the start of the school year. The bill called for the school year to start no earlier than September 1st, and end no later than June 7th. Delegates against the say it should be left up to the counties to decide.

Manchin wants witnesses to testify in impeachment trial

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin says there are witnesses with pertinent information and they should be called to testify in President Trump’s impeachment trial. Manchin says he hasn’t decided how he will vote. He’s viewed as moderate democrat in the Senate.

Escaped inmate wanted

Authorities are looking for an inmate who escaped from the Parkersburg Correction Center. Twenty-eight-year-old Jeremey Johnson removed his ankle monitor while he was out on a pass. Johnson is serving up to 40-years for breaking and entering.

WVSP recover stolen humvee

A stolen West Virginia State Police Humvee was found in the garage of an abandoned home in Campbell’s Creek. Troopers are trying to determine if the vehicle was sold as surplus, and the markings were never removed, or if it was stolen from a detachment.
