Governor Justice signed legislation creating a sovereign fund designed to attract investment projects to West Virginia. The fund will use money from corporations, and private investors to bring economic investment to the state.

Fayette County Inmate Dies of Natural Causes

A man convicted of killing a Putnam County sheriff’s deputy in 1989 has died in prison. 61-year old Robert Gray was an inmate at Mount Olive in Fayette County, and was pronounced dead of natural causes early Wednesday morning. The state Attorney Generals office is sending out a warning about a phone scam involving SNAP benefits. The caller claims that benefits will be stopped and solicit personal information. DHHR says they only send officially notices through the mail.
