A man is under arrest in the death of Alexa Randolph. Sixty-year-old Gary Smith is charged with first degree murder. Smith is the paternal grandfather of Randolph’s child. Her body was found last month in a Walmart parking lot in Morgantown.
West Virginia State Police are investigating after a security guard was shot in Cabin Creek. The guard was investigating mine thefts in the Kayford area when he was hit by a bullet. He was wearing a bullet proof vest and wasn’t hurt.
Charleston City Council will resume in-person meetings at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center beginning next week. Mayor Goodwin says there is great value in meeting in person, but also recognizes the importance of doing so in a socially distant and responsible manner.

Senator Joe Manchin is asking President Biden to reverse his decision to revoke the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. Manchin says the oil will still arrive in the country by trucks and rail, which poses a risk. He says the pipeline is the safest way to transport oil and gas.
