Sheetz says “coin shortage” is real

Sheetz Convenience stores, which has nearly sixty West Virginia locations, says the “coin shortage” is real. Since some businesses are still shut down there’s a circulation issue, and the U.S. Mint has slowed production because of social distancing requirements. The store suggest you pay with plastic, or donate your change to charity.

Street closures for firefighters funeral

Parts of Clendenin and Quarrier Street will be closed this morning for the funeral procession of firefighter Jason Cuffe. There will be rolling closures, as well, starting around noon. Cuffe died from a medical emergency earlier this week.

Volunteer Fire Departments Will Receive State Funds

After a big push from the Kanawha County Commissioners, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice announced this week all volunteer fire departments in the state will receive financial assistance. All 419 volunteer fire departments will receive $10,000. Teen Death Has Been Ruled a Homicide

The death of a 14-year-old Connecticut boy whose body was found in a shallow grave in rural West Virginia has been ruled a homicide.
