Police are investigating after a body was found in the Kanawha River. A worker at the London Locks building found the body of a man and investigators say it appears to have been in the water for some time. The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine a positive ID.

Fire damages 1890s farmhouse

A Hurricane family is displaced after a fire at their home on Foster Road, off Hurricane Creek. A couple, their three children, and two pets made it out safely. The fire started around a gas space heater. The farmhouse was built in the 1890s, and sustained considerable damage.

Man arrested on drug charges

A Mingo County man is facing drug charges after officers found him walking outside his vehicle in just his underwear. The man told officers there was a snake inside the vehicle. When they looked inside they found a plastic bag filled with cocaine in the front seat.
