The McClanahan Bridge is now open, after it was closed five year ago due to flood damage. The new bridge crosses the Poca River along County Route 31 in Lanham, and will eliminate a nine-mile detour. The two-point-two-million-dollar expansion is part of West Virginia’s Roads to Prosperity Project.

Several people are under arrest after Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies searched a Grantsville home and found drugs and an explosive device. The West Virginia State Police Bomb Response Unite disposed of the device. Four people were arrested in the drug sting operation.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a St. Albans teenager who didn’t return home after visiting a friend near Jefferson. Five staff members and one resident at the Teays Valley Center in Hurricane have tested positive for the coronavirus. All six are in isolation, an contact tracing is underway.

Governor Justice is urging the director of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons to reconsider transferring out-of-state inmates with COVID-19 to West Virginia prisons.
